Outstanding service and food !!! Our server was Becca and she was amazing. Very fast and friendly. We ate at several other restaurants while here and they were disgusting... BUT NOT LIVE BAIT! We will definitely be back .

Live Bait used to be a great place for our family to go, but it has gone down hill over the last few years. The prices have gone up tremendously, but the quality of service and food has plummeted. The fish and chips were good, but WAY overpriced . The Greek nachos appetizer will always be a family favorite that we actually get for a meal.($10 for small $15 for large) This time I tried the BBQ shrimp, which really confused me. The shrimp was dripping with some really great sauce, but they still had to be peeled. This was ridiculously messy to peel and it removed all the sauce. The whole process seemed to be senseless...I deeply regretted my decision to get this.

They have lunch specials before 3... we missed those. I ordered grilled shrimp over rice with green beans. The green beans were great.... wonderful..... the shrimp were cold and the rice was crunchy..... my husband's fried shrimp were tasty and hot. There were not many people there at the time so I am not sure what the excuse.

We visited for dinner yesterday. We come to the Alabama Gulf Coast every few years and, based on previous visits, we chose Live Bait for our first night. Our server was polite but seemed to have too many tables to manage. The food was good but not up to standard. I had the fried shrimp dinner and was disappointed with the portions and the size of the shrimp. Perhaps because of the size the breading seemed excessive. One person ordered the fish and chips and said it was to hot to eat when served. The person who first suggested Live Bait commented that we were going to have to scratch them off our list. I don't know if there has been a change in ownership or management, but something was missing. We went ahead and tipped the server well because she seemed to be doing all she could to keep up. I liked the solo guitarist. He did a nice job and was a bright spot.
